Terms of Service

Article 1 (Purpose and Scope)

These Terms set out the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between Service users and the Operator. The terms of use and standard end-user license agreement of the store from which the app was downloaded may also apply, and in the event of a conflict with mandatory law, that law prevails.

Article 2 (Service Description)

• Providing Korea Heritage visit courses, stops, maps, and curated route recommendations
• Storing visit/stamp progress and memos on the device
• Sending anonymous usage statistics and syncing visit records to the server, only if separately turned on by the user
• Optional email-based login (magic link) and cross-device syncing/restoring of visit records, turned on only if the user wants it
• Accepting information error reports submitted directly by users

The Service is currently free and, apart from an optional email-based login for users who want to sync visit records across devices, has no separate sign-up process. You can use every core feature without logging in. If paid features or additional account features are introduced, the applicable conditions and personal information handling will be separately disclosed, and any necessary consent obtained, before they take effect.

Article 3 (Verifying Official Information)

Course, stop, and operational information in the Service may change or be delayed. For official procedures such as passport applications, completion certification, souvenir pickup, and closure/operating hours, you must check the latest guidance on the official Korea Heritage Visit campaign website. Display within the Service alone does not constitute an official application, reservation, or certification.

Article 4 (User Choices and Data)

• Core features can be used with only on-device storage, without an account or server sync.
• Anonymous statistics and server sync are each off by default and turn on only after separate consent.
• Optional email-based login is off by default and is turned on only when you want to sync visit records across devices; via in-app account deletion you can immediately erase your email, sessions, and the visit records/events linked to the account. The same deletion is also available on the web (kheritage.offlab.kr/account/delete) after verifying with a code sent to your email.
• You may withdraw consent or delete that device's server data at any time from Settings.
• Users under the age of 14 must use local features under a legal guardian's guidance, and must not turn on optional server transmission features or submit reports without a legal guardian's consent.

Article 5 (User Obligations)

Users must not engage in the following:

• Impersonating another user, institution, or organization, or submitting false information
• Undermining service stability or security through malicious code, automated requests, circumvention, or similar means
• Entering content in a report that infringes another person's personal information, passport number, contact details, or other rights
• Infringing the terms of use of the Service, maps, or official materials, or the intellectual property rights of third parties
• Acting against applicable law or public order and morals

Article 6 (Third-Party Services and Rights)

The terms and policies of third-party services such as Kakao Maps and official websites apply to maps and external links. The Operator does not control outages or policy changes of those services.

Rights to the app's code, design, and editorial content belong to the Operator or the rightful rights holder. Rights to third-party materials such as Korea Heritage-related names, source data, and maps belong to their respective rights holders, and providing the Service does not constitute a transfer of those rights or official permission to use them.

Article 7 (Service Changes and Suspension)

The Operator may change or suspend part of the Service due to security, changes in law or policy, termination of an external API, maintenance, or force majeure. Foreseeable material changes will be announced in the app or website in advance, and urgent security measures will be announced without delay after being applied. If a user does not agree to a material change, they may turn off server transmission features and delete their server data.

Article 8 (Limitation of Liability)

The Service assists with travel planning and does not guarantee the permanent accuracy of information, official completion recognition, the opening status of any particular location, or uninterrupted provision of the Service. However, liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law — such as liability arising from the Operator's willful misconduct or gross negligence, personal information protection obligations, or consumer protection — is not limited by these Terms.

Article 9 (Changes to These Terms)

If these Terms are changed, the changes and their effective date will be disclosed on this page. Material changes unfavorable to users will, in principle, be announced 30 days before taking effect; where immediate application is required by law or for urgent security reasons, the reason will be announced together. Changes requiring separate consent will not be applied beyond the existing scope of consent before that consent is obtained.

Article 10 (Governing Law and Inquiries)

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes will be resolved through the competent court under applicable law or through lawful dispute mediation procedures.
